Leadership Bootcamp
As a Student Council/Senate adviser, you are busy from the day you start school–or even before–planning for Homecoming. Time for training your officers/executive team is almost non-existent; however, if your Student Officers could become more effective leaders, think how much easier it would be to complete projects for Homecoming and throughout the year. With that in mind, the Iowa Association of Student Councils offers five district workshops. This one-day training for your Student Council Officers/Executive Board uses interactive lessons to teach students how to be effective officers. Yes, this IS for middle school students too! Each school may register from 4 – 7 officers (or more if you have more than 7). Lunch will be provided. Registration is $15 per person, not to exceed $100 per school. You can attend any training in any of the five districts (in case a date in another district works better.) If fewer than 4 schools register for a specific district, training there will be canceled. Leadership Boot Camp will start at 9:30 a.m. and finish by 2:30 p.m. You can click on this link to register: Leadership Boot Camp Registration. Here are the dates and locations for the training.
- August 28 — Southeast District at Oskaloosa High School
- September 4 — Northeast District at Mason City High School
- September 6 — Central District at North Polk High School
- September 12 — Southwest District at Annunciation Church Parish Center, 724 Elm Street, Coon Rapids, Iowa
